Last Lady Charters 5/8 Report

Fishing the last few days has been very good when you target the right species. Right now it is a very slow pick on stripers during the AM trips. Fri and Sat afternoon trips did well with stripers. Had a zero on Saturday day trip for stripers. Sunday day and Monday day trips we advised the groups to go bottom fishing---had good resuilts---lots of ling, seabass releases(opens 5/19), and some cod & winter flounder. Have to cancel end of month cod trip---not enough interest--don't forget I've been catching cod in the summer for a long time now--will reschedule. I expect the stripers to settle in so we can clam and chunk them soon.

Last Lady Fishing Report and Open Boat dates

This past weekend we fished for bottom fish, stripers, & blues.  Sat  we bottom fished on the Last Lady and had real tough conditions---rough in AM with wind against tide.  We still managed to put together a decent catch of ling and a nice cod for Joe Hoy. Sunday both boats striper/blue fished.  It was very hard to get thru the blues.
Both boats had the box full of blues.  Last Lady managed two keeper stripers and the Last Lady II had 10 keepers.  If we fished earlier or later we would have done much better with the stripers. Try to book a trip for stripers weekdays---the boat traffic has been  unbelievable on the weekends.

MAKO SHARK FISHING IS ALMOST HERE---I have choice dates available at this time.  ALL SHARK TOURNAMENTS ARE BOOKED WITH ONE OPENING FOR THE SOUTH JERSEY TOURNAMENT(4 people---approx$2000/person--best tournament with most payout)

Jersey Hooker Charters 4/29 Fishing Report

Great Day on the Jersey Hooker!!!! Limits of Striped Bass Plus 3 Bonus Fish! and About 40 Blues! Man my arms Hurt.We were fishing right off Monmouth Beach in the morning and the bass bite was on, then it turned into all blues. So we stayed and had some fun for a while then made our way back south trolling a few more bass. As we were heading back in to the Manasquan inlet the bird life came alive again! So we were back on the Jig right outside the inlet! Most of the Bass were caught on Jersey Jays and Crocodile Jigs with a few on Tony Maja Bunker Spoons!!! Blues on Crocs and Hopkins. Great day of fishing!!!

I had Nick, Tom, Eric, Monica And Barbara out for a early morning of stripers. We left the dock early and it payed off for us big time.. I made the run to were I hoped to find after the weekend storms. First stop lock and loaded. Fish on 1,2 and 3 on then like a switch it was over.. I made a few moves and we got back into them again. We had boat limit by 10 am and hit the catch and release mode till the South winds came up. Lots of blue fish moved in also which kept rods bent all morning long. Ended the day with a boat limit plus 1 bonus tag fish..

Last Lady Charters South Jersey Marine-Shark Tournament Open Space

Last Lady Charters has two spots that have opened up for the richest Shark Tournament in New Jersey---South Jersey Marine-Shark Tournament held June 7-10.  Fish days on 8 & 9 with weather day the 10th.  Last year prizes totaled $280,000.

Last Lady Fishing Charter Boat 4/23 Update

Fished this past Sat and cancelled for Sunday(weather).  Sat fishing started off steady till around 11am---decided to take a ride and check something out.  Sometimes a plan comes together--fished a wreck I hadn't fished in over 20 years---real good ling fishing---pulled ling too 3 lbs for the rest of the day.

4/15 Atlantic Highlands Fishermen, Fishing Report

I know the Monday Regs are chomping at the bit for today's report so here goes.

Morning bite was excellent, came back on the anchor and had 3 fish on right away. Bite lasted an hour then we went for some jig fish. With gannets crashing the water we found some of the biggest fish of the season including Big Alan's 34 pound beauty. Had the end of the tide and the bite died. Thought it would turn back on after the change, it didn't but we were very happy with the catch we put together.

Well today was the day you had to work for them.. The guys did great and we had our limit+ by 10am..The guys were mainly surf fisherman that were treat to a new style of fishing.. Joe who booked the trip explain that the goal was just a fun day on the water fish or no fish. Well it was a fish day, and a good one at that. We even jigged a Fluke in 50ft of water..

Sea Soda Sport fishing 4/14 Fishing Report

Broke the inlet with Chris Liz Jon and Anthony. Left around 7 am. Went to where I had fish last weekend. We had to go a little further than I'd like.. BUT it was worth it!! Bass swirling on top and ganets diving everywhere!! Pencil poppers RV swimmers and krocs. They hit everything!! We caught over 40 fish only keeping our limit plus 2 bonus tags that Chris and Liz had. The fish went out too far and we decided to head toward the beach and look for life. With the box full. The crew cracked beers and we trolled for fun to take a break because their arms were sore! Fish after fish! Worked the shore line some nice bait marks but that was it Great times had by all!! Big Mohawk 4/14 Fishing Report

SaturdayApril 14, 2012. Great day out on the ocean today! Slow pick on the blacks. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. We will also be looking for stripers, so bring you shads and jigs. We did have some nice winter flounder and ling today. Our priority is blackfish, but we do like to mix it up a bit when the blackfish don't cooperate! 6:01 PM We just ahad a double shot for forst time stripers as Bryce Johnson landed his first ever on clams around the end of the paved road in IBSP on clams. Great job guys. Love to see those junior anglers hooking up.


5:22 PM It seems the high tide is starting to produce some fish. Heard of a 32 incher at Area 20, and Dorian Elmore and his father landed 4 bass right up the street from the shop up to 12 1/2 pounds. It was Dorian's first keeper, CONGRATS!!!!

Sandy Hook Fishing Adventures 4/13 Fishing Report

Shake down cruise this morn. Wanted to run the boat, get out and do a little fishing. Ran to where I wanted to be and started letting the lines out. Just as I got second line in water, wham hauled in nice 28" Bass. Threw him back, got line back out and other line goes off, nice 35" Bass in the box. This kept up for a good 45 min, one after the other. Soon as tide dropped out bite stopped. Mornings total 8 Fish from 27-35". Just kept legal limit. Friday the 13th. Slow pick on the blackfish today. They just didn't seem to cooperate. We did catch a few ling. Our first stop today was for stripers, after two successful drifts, we limited out and went in search of blackfish. Make sure you bring your shads, jigs and crocks. MISS BELMAR PRINCESS 4/13 report

Captain Lenny called us early this morning to let us know that the stripers are biting their heads off! The birds are diving everywhere and the stripers are breaking all over the top. At 9:00 a.m. this morning, we had over 50 keepers on the boat and the action is still red hot! Some drifts they caught over 20 stripers. Finally, after almost a week of terrible to very slow fishing, some days just picking, the stripers decided to eat again. Our pool winner was Eric Van Norde with a 26 lb striper. Here are some of the photo's from today's catches. The weather looks fantastic for this weekend so come down and take advantage of the red hot striper fishing.

Excellent Striped Bass Fishing Today!

4-13 Striped Bass Report

Striped bass fishing was very good today. Many passengers caught their limit and released a few. The bass were caught on jigs, Crocs, and Deadly Dicks. Most of the fish today were keepers up to 38LBS!

The pool winner was:

David Hurwitz from New Milford NJ with a 38LB Striped Bass.

The best fishing was in the morning. The bass were schooled up heavily, and readings on the scope went from 20' down to the bottom at times.

We finished the day with over 100 keepers.

The Striped Bass are here, and there are plenty of bass in our range. Some days they bite good and some days they don't, but, the fish are here, so now is the time to go. We should have good fishing on upcoming trips.

The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail every day at 7:30AM for Striped Bass.

Attention all Saltwater Fishermen!!!! As i am sure you are all aware NJ has taken the first step to prepare to start charging Saltwater Fisherman its called Salt Water Registry. As of right now it is free as long as you register... if you do not register and don't carry your permit you can be subject to a fine. There are a few exceptions to this rule if you are fishing from a charter or a party boat you don't need it. Although law makers say they will not charge for this in the future the writing is on the wall! They started with the Striped Bass Bonus tag program. Right now you can keep 2 fish 28" plus and if you pay $2.00 you can keep a third Fish. Trust me i am all about the conservation effort but be warned i can see in a few years we will all be paying to fish in the Ocean!
